If you are searching for “rent quad near me” while staying in Zagreb, the riding does not have to be in the city itself. Jezerišće is often less than an hour from western Zagreb, while the journey from the city centre takes about an hour. Zagorje Rent offers self-guided riding through the Zagorje hills and wooded countryside, with the actual travel time depending on traffic and current road conditions.
The short answer
An overnight stay is not necessary. For a two to four-hour rental, set aside at least half a day: roughly an hour to reach Zagorje, time for the handover and ride, and roughly an hour to return to Zagreb.
How far is Jezerišće from Zagreb?
The pickup point is in Jezerišće near Đurmanec. Driving from Zagreb usually takes about an hour, but the actual time depends on where you start and current traffic. A journey from western Zagreb may be shorter, while crossing the city can add time.
Treat “about an hour” as a guide. Open directions to the exact starting point before leaving and check the Croatian Auto Club traffic report on the day. Leave early enough to reach the agreed handover without rushing.

How much time should you allow?
It is easy to count only the rental period and forget the rest of the day. A return journey from Zagreb already accounts for around two hours. Arrive 10 to 15 minutes early and allow up to 10 minutes for handover. Add more time if you plan to stop for a meal or coffee in Zagorje.
A one-hour rental
One hour makes sense if you want to try a quad for the first time and already have other plans for the day. The full outing still takes much longer than the hour spent on the vehicle. If the ride is the main reason for travelling from Zagreb, set aside at least half a day.
Two to four hours
For visitors coming from Zagreb, a two to four-hour rental is usually the more practical choice. Two hours allows for a longer ride without taking over the entire day. Four hours suits a group that wants more terrain, a steadier pace and time for a stop. The published Jezerišće route is planned as an approximately four-hour ride.
Eight hours or a full weekend
For an eight-hour or weekend rental, agree on the route, fuel, return time and weather plan in advance. Not every route or passenger setup is suitable for a longer booking.
A realistic plan for four hours
If the handover is booked for 10:00, leave Zagreb at around 08:30. That gives you some room for city traffic, a short stop and an unhurried arrival. After a four-hour ride, there is still time for a meal in Zagorje and a return to Zagreb the same day.
Directions to the start are not route navigation
Google Maps or another road-navigation app takes you to the starting point. Rides are self-guided, and we recommend importing the published GPX track into calimoto. The Jezerišće route page therefore keeps arrival directions separate from the route files.
Jezerišće is currently the only published GPS route from Zagorje Rent. The loop is 31.5 kilometres long, and the recorded ride took about four hours. Other route cards are marked as coming soon and are not yet confirmed options.
What is included, and what should you bring?
Your rental includes a helmet, winch and storage case. The quad is collected with a full fuel tank and returned full. Fuel consumption is low, while the actual cost depends on the duration and riding style. Wear closed footwear and clothes you do not mind getting dusty or muddy. Layers are useful because the temperature can feel different in the forest and on open ground.
Bring water, your phone and only the personal items you need. For a more detailed checklist, read what to wear and bring for a quad ride.
If this is your first quad ride
For a first ride, a shorter booking and a steady pace are often the better choice. Allow time to understand the controls, spacing and changing surfaces. Tell us that you are a beginner, how many people are coming and whether anyone plans to ride as a passenger.
Every driver must be at least 18 and hold a valid category B licence. Each quad is registered for two people, and we check your identity document and driving licence at handover. The guides to your first quad ride and licence requirements explain what to expect.
What to include in your first message
A useful inquiry can be brief. Include:
- your preferred date and approximate arrival time,
- the rental duration you are considering,
- the number of people, drivers and quads,
- whether anyone is a beginner or plans to ride as a passenger,
- that you are travelling from Zagreb if you need arrival directions.
We will reply with availability, the price and the practical handover details. You can compare the current options beforehand in the guide to quad rental prices and duration.
