A good quad route is more than a line on a map. It should suit the rental duration, driver experience, weather and roads or tracks where riding is permitted. Zagorje Rent rides are self-guided: you can follow the published Jezerišće route or arrange another suitable route in advance.

Where to start

Jezerišće is currently the only published GPS route from Zagorje Rent. It is 31.5 km long, and the recorded ride took about four hours. The route suits beginners, while experienced riders can discuss the pace and planned stops in advance.

A quad riding along a wide forest road in Zagorje
Forest roads require a calmer pace and more time than the same distance on tarmac.

Why the distance does not tell the whole story

Thirty kilometres on mixed terrain cannot be planned like thirty kilometres on a paved road. The surface, gradient, visibility and rider experience all affect the pace. When planning the day, allow for arrival 10 to 15 minutes early, a short handover, planned stops and the return. The published route duration is a guide, not a guaranteed finishing time.

A better question is “what can we comfortably fit into four hours?” rather than trying to cover the greatest possible distance. A calmer plan leaves room for photographs, short breaks and safe adjustment to the terrain.

The Jezerišće route

The Jezerišće route page includes the map, distance, duration, elevation data and GPX and KML files. We recommend importing the GPX file into calimoto first. OsmAnd is another option and supports GPX as well as KML import. Check the full track after importing it. Directions to the starting point are separate from navigation along the full route.

It is a loop route, finishing near its starting point. That does not mean every section has the same difficulty or that every group will complete it in exactly the same time.

Choosing a rental period

  • 1 hour: a short introduction with little time for longer stops.
  • 2 to 4 hours: more terrain, a natural pace and time for a break.
  • 8 hours or longer: although fuel consumption is low, weather, fuel, route planning and the return time become a larger part of the day.

Compare all options in the guide to quad rental prices and duration.

Viewpoints and stops

A key point on the Jezerišće route is the Strahinjčica mountain hut. On the way back, the outing can be combined with the Krapina Neanderthal Museum in Krapina. Check the museum's opening hours before travelling because admission is not part of the quad rental.

Stop only in a clear, safe place where the quads do not obstruct anyone. An agreed route does not include private access roads, fields or forest tracks where motor traffic is prohibited.

What to include in your inquiry

Send the date, number of people, number of drivers, experience level and whether you prefer a short ride or a trip with more stops. If the forecast is uncertain, leave room for a practical alternative. This allows for a realistic recommendation instead of a plan the terrain or weather may not support.
